On May 8th 2020, in the middle of the Corona lockdown, Carina nevertheless successfully defended her PhD. In order to do so, the group experienced its first Skype online defence. After starting her project in November of 2016 under difficult circumstances, Carina added to our ongoing Acetylene Hydratase project and made some important contributions to tungsten chemistry. Her profound knowledge in tungsten chemistry as well as her eccentric character will be missed in the group. We wish her all the best for the next professional step.
